Some Choquette that live to
a ripe old age !
Brother Pierre Choquette, from Sherbrooke, a member of the Sacred-Heart
Congregation since 1971, has sent us the following documents which
demonstrates that the Choquette have a genetic propensity to live
a long time ! Joseph Choquette and Rosalie Rainville had left Ste-Marie-de-Monnoir (Marieville), Rouville County, around 1890 to settle in Ste-Catherine-de-Hatley, and after a while, went to help found the Parish of Ste-Elisabeth-de-North-Hatley, Stanstead County. Several of their descendants stll live in the Eastern Township area. The following newspaper article, printed in Sherbrooke's La Tribune on May 29, 1963, tells us more about this family with the remarkable longevity. |
