How this site came to be

This site contains a large Family Tree on which Jeanne Choquette and her father Jean Choquette, have been working since 1995. This Family Tree was first created using the extended research done by Gaston Choquette (Jean's father, Jeanne's grand-father), who died in 1977.

Starting from hand written notes, and also from information obtained from letters that Gaston received from correspondents, often from the United States, a computerized Family Tree was first constructed in the Brothers Keeper's format. It was then enriched by the systematic input of data from the Genealogical Dictionaries (Rene Jette, Institut Drouin, etc.), Parish Records, and microfilms of Civil Records. using GEDCOM, the data was then transferred to Reunion for Windows software (now called Generations).

All the required steps to set up a Genealogy Web site are explained in the toolbox.
